Geometry Dash is a series of five video games developed by Sweden-based developer Robert Topala, and published by his company, RobTop Games. It was first released in 2013. In this game, you can control the movement of an icon and navigate along music-based levels, while avoiding obstacles such as spikes that instantly destroy the icon on impact. The principal game, Geometry Dash, is a rhythm-based platforming game which currently has 21 official levels. It is well known for its extensive level creation system, where players can create their own custom courses, share them online, and play courses designed by other players. It has more than 40 million online levels made by players. You start out as a hop-happy icon with the goal of making it through each level in one go. You get unlimited attempts to do so, but if you mistime a jump or mess up in any way, it's back to the start for you. At certain points in each level, you'll enter a warp zone where your icon is suddenly flying a mini spaceship with the controls switching over to Flappy Bird or Helicopter Game-style gameplay. It's the ultimate game of trial and error but we will help to with some tips here: • Turn off music During the game-play, you may find the music is distracting. So Turn off music, this can help you focus in on the visual cues, which are infinitely more important than the music. • Ignore the secret coins You will see some secret coins that you need to go off the standard path to get, throughout the levels. If your objective is to get through the level, then forget about the secret coins and focusing on finishing the levels. • Use practical mode if you need to Practice makes it perfect. Practice mode doesn't count towards you beating the level, but it can help you figure out how to get past a particularly tricky spot and give you a heads-up as to what's up ahead. You're able to drop checkpoints in practice mode, which means you aren't stuck starting from the very beginning each time and can take as many goes at a tricky new part as you want. After you are confident in the practical mode, you can go back to the regular game and progress further. • Take a break when you need to The strobing colors and lights throughout the levels are pretty at first, but eventually they almost put you into a light, hypnotic trance. After a marathon session of Geometry Dash, looking away from the screen will help your eyes to relax and prevent from blurring version. You can take a break, and come back to the game the next day with fresh eyes, and you'll likely find things way easier and less frustrating. Geometry Dash had received generally positive reviews from critics. Softpedia complimented the game's style and challenge that it brings up, saying, "While it can get a bit frustrating sometimes, you can always complete the stages using the practice mode and then jump into the many different user-generated levels."
